Hellenic Student Association Paideia at UConn

About

The Hellenic Student Association Paideia at UConn's goal is the promotion of the Greek culture and spirit at the University of Connecticut. Our organization provides its members with a unique Greek environment seldom found in other universities. Our center "Makedonia", on Dog Lane, houses courses on Modern and Ancient Greek, as well as Byzantine language, history, dance, culinary arts, and other Greek cultural aspects. For those interested, we also provide study abroad programs in Greece at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of the Aegean in Rhodes, and the Academy of Athens as of Fall 2006. The study abroad courses are taught in English, and are mostly general university requirements with specialized courses in Thessaloniki and Rhodes. In Thessaloniki, courses are more geared towards European business and foreign relations, with marine biology courses for the study abroad program in Rhodes. We also have short study abroad programs in Rhodes and other parts of Greece four times a year, with the direction of club advisor. Our organization promotes not only the courses and study abroad programs outlined, but brings together those of similar backgrounds who attend the same university. If interested in the Hellenic Student Association Paideia at UConn, please contact one of the club officers for more information.
