Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, UConn Chapter

SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support, and development. UConn's SHPE chapter was founded in 1997 and has been building a community for and providing opportunities to Hispanic STEM students ever since by valuing familia, education, service, and resilience. SHPE hosts a variety of meetings weekly throughout the academic year, from social meetings to company presentations, profession panels, and resume workshops. Members also attend regional and national conventions where they can connect with other students from across the U.S., in addition to meeting with industry professionals from leading companies in STEM fields.
